Oceanside -- LegoLand

The next day on Saturday we spent the day at Lego Land. We met up with the Barnums at their hotel to eat some good breakfast. When I walked in to our "Continental Breakfast" at our hotel I literally laughed. It was next to nothing in there and then some coffee.

Lego Land was a fun place if your child was tall enough for rides. That was kind of a let down for us. He did love the little splash park by some of the water rides. He played there for a bout an hour. We weren't prepared with a swimming suit though.

They also have an aquarium you can check out. Westin really liked that and talking about all the fish. This picture was looking in on Westin and I in the middle of a doughnut shaped tank.

They had only one place for you to touch something, and I don't even remember what we touched. Probably a starfish.

We had fun but won't be going back until after Westin and the rest of the kids are tall enough to enjoy the rides, or we will go to the water park.

On the way home we stopped a the Crate and Barrel outlet, I can't stay away from that place. We ended up with a couple of cool things our favorite a patio umbrella. Westin got a little tired and fell right asleep in Matt's arm, a VERY rare occasion.

Oceanside

The next weekend after my birthday we headed down for a weekend in Oceanside with the Barnums.  We started with the beach on Friday.

Just like whenever Matt gets together with his friends they revert back to when they were young. They dragged each other around for about an hour. They sure do look like they are enjoying themselves though.

That night we went to some pizza place as a big group. It was quite the experience with getting burnt pizza but then enjoying some cotton candy that Westin loved.

Birthday Party

I threw myself a party a few days after my birthday. We had a bon fire at the beach. I loves s'mores, I love parties, I love the beach, and I love fires so it was perfect!

Matt built the fire, he always does.

We ate yummy stuff. I was introduced to the greatest thing. It's probably not new to everyone else but I loved it. Banana, chocolate, graham cracker, marshmallows, and caramel.

We played lots of games, including running after footballs.

Lots of friends came to join in on the fun.

I'm so glad we did it. It was the perfect night. Not too cold or windy and we were able to find a pit. Thanks everyone for making my birthday special. I go a new camera and a grill! I've been asking for a grill since we got married and we finally got it! I use it multiple times a week and its perfect.

Some Family Portraits

We had our friend Nick take some pictures for us. I really liked how they turned out, we just need to go back with we aren't looking directly into the sun.

Doesn't he look like a little model?

Love our little family!

New Toys

I got a new camera for my birthday. I loved it, it took fantastic pictures and even took video. Then sadly it started freezing so we took it back. But we had it for about a month and had lots of fun with it.

Matt was napping on a Sunday afternoon and Westin found it necessary for his Dad to hold all his bowling pins, plus his milk. I still can't believe he never woke up through it all.

Of course there was a little ball action going on. What day would be complete without some?

Sometimes he tries to see how many he can hold.

For instance, heading out the door for church he tries to grab anything he can take with him. I love his innocent look trying to get us to give in. He isn't allowed to bring toys (especially balls) he just ends up throwing everything.

Or here were we are trying to say bed time prayers and he has to be holding his ball in order to say prayers and go to bed. Serious stinker status.

Westin also loves to eat guacamole, especially Chipotle's.
We picked up some dinner for our good friends the Lyons. They just had their baby girl Stella and we had to go see her.

Bananas, Parks & Medicine

Besides cookies (oreos), Westins favorite food is a banana. He would and could eat them all day long if I let him. He also really loves his rain boats, they are trains after all.

He also is taking a steady cocktail of benedryl and Zyrtec these days. Plus an inhaler. Every night before bed we tell him its time for his medicine and he gets his stool from the bathroom to sit on. (Whatever gets him to take all his medicine) It seems like a lot of stuff in his little body but he doesn't wheeze and hasn't had problems when he consistently takes them.

Sometimes Westin's shorts are a tad big for him. He is 2 now and he has trouble keeping some 18 month shorts on. I found him just like this during a nap, later when I got him out of bed they were half off. Yes he still sleeps with his pacifier, he is loosing it soon. I'm afraid my 3-4 hour naps will be gone though.

Park day around here is every Tuesday. Promenade Park is our favorite, the sand is a volleyball court which means we don't have to walk through it to go on a slide or be pushed in a swing. We go with lots of friends.

We almost always bring a ball or 2. Haven't lost one yet but I'm afraid its coming.

Last Day in Arizona

We attempted a little bit of a family (cousin) picture. I don't know why we always wait until the last day to get this done. The kids (Westin) is never happy by then. He would be in tears when we put him by the girls. As if we were punishing him.

Lyla on the other hand was fully cooperative. What a doll she is.

At least we got a decent sisters picture.

I guess Allison is just going to have to come back again (and again) to make sure we get some better ones.
