More Visitors?

Seriously though, we love to have visitors come especially when its Grandma & Grandpa! We are so lucky to have them come so often.  They came to town for the weekend. Grandma drove over one night and Grandpa flew in from his business trip. We celebrated Grandpa & Graysons birthday, went hiking down in Laguna Beach, golfing, eating out and lots of wrestling. Matt made Grandpa an ice cream cake.

Some Fun Little Things

Westin is our sleeper. He needs at least 12 hours at night and he gets it. If he goes to bed late he wakes up late it is awesome.

He loves the park. He mostly enjoys watching the other kids, running around, the swings and golfing.

He loves his bike. He goes so fast around the sidewalks its harder to keep up with him.

Since Westin was potty trained we have had a harder time getting him to go to bed and stay in bed. It was a fight every night and took at least 2 hours. It was exhausting and very frustrating. We tried everything. Rewards, stickers, stories, if you can think of it we tried it. We had to re-teach him how to lay down and fall asleep. He was so used to be being locked into his crib and having no choice but to sleep. This is what I think, who knows what was really going on in his head.

Valentines Day

When you are 2 on Valentines Day it's a little difficult for you.

You sleep in.

You get really mad at your "Valentine" oatmeal.

Finally eat your oatmeal. Happily.

Hand out your sport valentine cards.

That night experience a black out. Read books under a blanket to flash light and put out candles.

Back to Business

Learning how to use the toilet is hard work and at times means we need help relaxing. We resorted to playing games on the phone so we can relax. Then when you do use it properly you get rewarded for your efforts. After that, you head straight to the bathtub. All in a nights work.

Visitors

 We love having visitors. Seriously, it brings us so much joy. Its tight in our little 2 bedroom apartment but there is so much to do outside that we make the most of it. 

Grandma & Grandpa Pobst came to town and they brought Grandma Alice (Westin's Great Grandma) Their trips always start out with lunch at TK Burger, speaking of, will you guys come back so we can go again?  We enjoyed dinner out Saturday morning chores. It was especially helpful because our ward had a service project on Saturday morning and it made it much easier without Westin. Although it probably would have been a very good learning experience for him....next time. We also took Grandma Alice out on the pier to enjoy being outside, I think it was freezing though and to show her our fun town. Westin loves technology. What kid doesn't though right? He loves playing games and watching shows on the iPad and Grandma is happy to oblige. There were Bike rides and golfing like usual plus a haircut in our underwear.

We went out for more dinner Saturday night and Matt & I were able to escape for a little date. Everywhere we went was closed so we ended up looking at cars at the dealership. We fell in love with the minivan, but we still don't have one.

Bed Time Stories

Westin doesn't sit and listen to books very well. He is getting better the older he gets but he still isn't in love with them like ALL of his cousins.

This night he did really well and was cuddling so i needed to document it.

Then he went on to much more fun things. 

Jump & Slide

Every once in a while we will get a coupon to go to a bounce house for cheap. 

February 7th

Westin loves these places but isn't quite big enough to crawl over them himself and me being 8 months pregnant at the time was a little bit too big for some things. He finally got the hang of going up the ladder and down the slide and I was able to sit on a bench at the bottom and watch them.

It was a rainy day so my hair was a little bit more wild then usual.

Favorite Things

Some of Westin's favorite things are out doors. I think its like that for most kids. 

If we go to the park he begs me to take his golf club. 

February 2

He loves to ride his bike and especially loves when his friends join him.

All these kids live in our neighoborhood and were born within 7 months of each other.

Trains are also starting to hold a special place in his heart.

Ever since he was potty trained Westin has found a love for marshmallows.  Everything he does he feels he deserves a marshmallow. We love them too since its special to him AND "Westin friendly"

Westin loves fruit, bananas are still his favorite but he likes grapes, apples, pears, and watermelon



Frozen Yogurt is another favorite, but this one is a family favorite. I think going to yogurt was a special treat for him being potty trained. He always gets the Hawaiian punch with gummy bears on top.

Play Group

Play group happens twice a week for 2 hours each time. As the year went on it got harder to entertain the boys and to keep all 6 of them locked up in our house but it was well worth the 5 weeks of not doing it. 

We had a few crazy things happen, like paint spilling all over our back patio and little drops getting brought back through the house. I was also able to get things done most days, like cleaning the bathrooms.

My view through most of it was this, a bunch of blonde heads.

I definitely recommend play group with 2-3 year olds!

We Lost Our Diapers

We did it! Well, Westin did it. We took the plunge and decided to cut out the diapers for good. It was the worst thing ever as we were going through it but once we got past the messy part it was the best decision ever!

We sure had a hard time with it, I'll spare every one the details but we had our ups and downs. 

We played a lot of basketball.

Watched a lot of movies. While holding hands.

We stayed in our underwear for days and ate a lot of marshmallows.
