Just for the weekend

A couple of weeks before Thanksgiving we headed to Arizona for the first annual girls trip. It. Was. Fabulous!

Before we left Westin wanted to make sure that we swept the floor. Actually every time I get the broom out he HAS to help. Every time.

At Grandma Bairs house he enjoyed feeding the dog black beans.  Rex, the dog, has a love hate relationship with Westin. He loves the food droppings but hates the touching.

The night we drove in we headed straight to the Westview football game. Aaron, Matts younger brother who is a senior decided to play this year. Westin would only take the picture with the balloon.

While the girls played the boys hiked. Here is Aaron posing on top of Squaw Peak Mountain.

My sister, sister-in-law and my Mom headed to Sedona for the weekend to hang out and craft. Us girls did a whole lot of sitting at this table. We had so much fun and got lots done.

We decided to try to make it a yearly trip.

The finished projects, jewelry hanging frames, Christmas countdown blocks, candy bags, and we decorated treat Tupperware.

After church we drove through Sedona a bit. The red rock was so pretty to see. We hoped out of the car to take this picture, a little fuzzy but so cute!

Halloween

Before Westin was born his Uncle Aaron bought him some Jordan's. As soon as he could walk we would put him in them. At first it was pretty hard for him to walk in them but he quickly adjusted.

Between the shoes and Westin's love for anything with a ball we decided he should be a basketball player for Halloween. Since we are Suns fans it only seemed perfect he was Steve Nash. He already had some orange basketball shorts so we found a clearance jersey at target for material and I made the top and Matt Stenciled the name and number onto it. The only bummer is for the Trunk-or-Treat it was cold and he was freezing in his tank top.

We went to Disneyland on hte 29th, it was BUSY! I'm glad we went, everyone was dressed up and looked awesome!

Pictures & Visits

Back in October Stacy and Grace came to visit. It was a fun filled week of laughing and trips to goodwill!

This collage is just Westin running around on the couch. He does it often and throws ALL the pillows on the ground. Who taught him that?

We got some cute pictures of this girl just before she turned 5!

Westin walked around in his diaper like usual after naps.

Grace climbed a tree, we played outside a lot. Its just what we do in California!

Grace brought some fun chalk for Westin to eat!

Westin thought it was always play time, even when he should have been napping!

The girl on the left, she was the ring leader of all the shenanigans!

We did make trips to Goodwill, you'll have to see the pictures to believe it but we walked out with some pretty awesome finds! After we ran into the mean old lady!

This Guy Had A Birthday

Westin's BFF turned ONE back in September! Westin and Isaiah are almost the exact amount of days apart as Rebecca and I are.

This guy wasn't too excited about the party, he thought he didn't get any of the treats since they all had Milk in them. Such a bummer.

These guys didn't mind the extras.

Then Westin found what he wanted.

Later we had cake and ice cream, I think. He loved it!

Happy Birthday Buddy!

Westin Needs an Update

We are loving Westin right now. Seriously, he is killing us with how cute he is. He is learning new things constantly. He learns so well. His most favorite things are sunglasses and hats. He doesn't keep them on for very long but he will play with them daily. Neither of these 2 things can beat his love for any ball.  He wakes up and signs either ball or Dad. Speaking of his signs, he now can say Mom, Dad, Hat, Phone, Eat, Water, Grandma, Thank You, Please, More, Cat, Dog, Baby, Bear, Hot, Cold, All Done, Shoes, and Train. I think thats all of them.

He loves to eat, but isn't in love with everything.

He explores all the time, This particular time he got stuck under the chair. He has this super concerned look on his face.

I think he looks so handsome in this picture. Maybe like he is about ready to do a dance move or something. Since he can walk now, he always brings me his shoes and signs shoes so I'll put them on. I think he puts it together with going outside as well.

We were trying to figure out what we were going to do with his infant car seat. For a while it was in our living room and he loved to sit in it and relax. Wouldn't ever stay for too long but he sure loved getting in and out.

He has also started to sit and read books with us. He never had interest until recently.
He loves dogs. His eyes and mouth get so big and wide when he sees them and he tries to bark and pant like the dogs. He signs it too. He likes to pet them and is pretty soft with them.
He still loves his Dad more then anything. The second he walks in the door from work he doesn't want me, he wants him. Which is fine by me, since he is in the stage of wanting me to hold him while I'm making dinner.(Very Frustrating)
I might be repeating myself with this but he has all 16 teeth and has had them since he was about 13 months.

His allergic reactions are getting worse with each exposure. You'd think we'd be able to keep it under control!

Just a few weeks at a time

So.....

We moved. It was a really big decision for us. A really hard one. Still aren't quite sure why we did it. We moved 2 miles away from the beach and my heart broke. We loved it down there. It was such a great time and constant entertainment. However, we moved to a little bit bigger a little bit cheaper place with lots of new friends.

The positives. We got to paint a whole new place and thanks to a stranger blogger I found the perfect color that I fall in love with every time I see it. (Frazee CEO) We also got a new couch that I am even more in love with. Picture a chocolate brown microfiber sectional. I get a picture up sooner or later. Maybe once I decide on some pillows.

Westin likes to climb now. It actually isn't too bad now that I have all of the boxes emptied and taken down. He eventually was standing.

That's our front door...you see it? I love how its on the lower level plus we have no one above us. There is lots of room for Westin to play. We also have a little backyard. It's pretty big to us but to most it probably looks like nothing.  Since he has his new best friend, Isaiah, they needed more room.

One day I had both the boys. Isaiah could walk and Westin could crawl. They both went their separate ways. I, however, could not.

It was not a good idea to go outside, alone.

They finally decided to be in the same place. Notice Westin is already on his way out.

Shortly after we moved in we noticed a new neighbor. This guy walked right by our door.

We went to Disneyland for dinner and a few rides. We started out in California Adventure. Westin was not interested in going on anything. We forced him.

He decided it wasn't so bad.

Matt has been really busy with work. Good news in my mind, means he has a job. He also has been playing football, basketball and talking about riding his bike. I have been pulling the sewing machine a lot lately. Made a skirt, some pillow covers and some baby shower gifts. I also decided to open up an etsy shop called Lady's Place. Its a pretty big step for me but I'm enjoying it. Its just small and silly but fun for me. Stop on by and check it out.

Labor Day Hiking

All though my camera only shows we went on a hike that day, we also went to the beach and had a barbecue at the Rosenhans! It was a great day and perfect weather if I remember correctly.

Thank goodness for good strollers so babies can nap. Everyone was a trooper on our morning hike. After El Moro Canyon we headed to Cafe Rio for lunch then out to Corona Del Mar beach.

Oatmeal for Breakfast

Every morning Westin eats oatmeal for breakfast. Until he was 12 months it was plan oatmeal, which is probably the equivalent to eating paste.  We recently introduced oatmeal packets and he loves them even more. He usually starts with cheerios on his tray so we can get the water heated up and then the oatmeal to cool off for him.

Westin has also started to only eat certain things with a spoon. He does ok but he usually starts out with it then gets sick of it and goes for it with his hands. He never gives up the spoon and most certainly doesn't want our help. Frustrating.

Starting with the spoon.

Diving right in with both hands!

He usually has a bib on and when we forget it its a nightmare to clean up because usually he has half of it on his chest.

A cute video of him being cheesy.  I took his tray away in effort to teach him to not throw his food. If he is done with it our doesn't want it, it goes on the ground. It irritates the heck out of me! So if he does his tray gets taken away. Its been a few months of this and he has shown no signs of change.

Corona Del Mar Tide Pools

We took the Lainharts down to the Tide Pools at corona Del Mar. It might be our new favorite beach. One of the most beautiful and the houses along the beach are breathtaking!

When there is a low tide you can see all sorts of sea creatures...maybe not all sorts but quite a few.

The families

Sorry Becca, every time I post this picture it comes out with the streaks on it. I'll work on it later.

Isaiah loves the water, but Westin hates it. He bursts into tears when we get close to it.

He does love to dig though.

Recently Westin has been totally in to his Dad. When Matt gets home from work he is all about his Dad. Pushes me away and cries when I hold him. Does it make me sad, a little.

Splash Pad

Westin and I headed to a splash pad with Rebecca, Isaiah and Ashlynn.

It was Westins first trip in his new carseat, I don't think he really enjoyed the change. He likes it now though.

This is what He could have been doing....

this is what he did do

He watched the guys play with the basketball.

We finally got him to pay attention to the big cement ball inside the fence.
