As of lately

So our boy Westin is now 3 weeks old. I can't believe it! A few stats from his recent doctors visits.
When he was born on Saturday he weighed in at 8 lbs 10 oz. Then the visit on the following Tuesday he weighed 7 lbs 14 oz. a week later he weighed in at 8 lbs 12 oz. At his 2 week appointment on August 24 he weighed 9 lbs 6 oz. Now Yesterday Matt weighed him on our scale at home so its probably not as accurate but he weighed 10lbs 6 oz. This kid is growing quickly!

Here we have my 2 favorite boys, sleeping. Doing what Westin does best. We still have to wake him up to eat most of the time. We have recently had to start rocking him to go back to sleep.

Westins 2nd trip to the beach. He loved it! Well he didn't cry so I assume he liked it. He must have just loved his swimsuit and rash guard!

He loved sitting with his Dad! We had him in his bouncy seat most of the time.

August 30 was Westins first day at church. He enjoyed it, well once again he didn't cry. One thing he didn't do was sleep. He got the hicups on the way so he didn't fall asleep in the car and we couldn't get him to sleep through out all of church. Isn't his outfit so cute!

Westin loves to look at his Dad. Matt was getting just a little bit of emotion out of him, we would like to call it a smile.
Also, notice al the burp cloths. This kid can't keep much down!

13 babies so far ...

In our ward at church since Janruary of 2009 there has been 13 babies born. This is serious.
We all got together on Sunday during church and had a little photo shoot with all of them.

Thanks to our friend Kris for taking all the pictures. Check out his blog http://burntexposureblog.com/

All 13 babies looking so awesome and cute! 5 Girls and 8 Boys. Westin is the youngest! The oldest boy is all the way to the left and his name is Easton!

Here's all the moms!

As far as I know there are 2 babies due to come. One in September and 1 in November! They are both girls, so that will even out our numbers a bit.

Sidenote: There is one other girl who came in May but her family moved out of our ward boundaries.

Pobst Family Visit

Last Weekend right after we dropped my Mom off at the airport Matt's family came to visit. They were able to stay for the whole weekend. They were such a big help even though it was a little crazy having so many people in our little place.

Grandma and Grandpa

Camille was there too but somehow we didn't get a picture of her with Westin. She was able to stay until Wednesday, she wanted extra time with Westin since she is headed to the MTC on Wednesday and then off to Paris she goes! She was a big help, she did dishes and carried laundry up and down the stairs for me! It was great.

Thank you guys for coming and we can't wait to see you again in a few weeks!

A HUGE Thank You

I just have to give a huge Thank You to my Mom! She came out as soon as I started my contractions and didn't leave for a week! (A week was WAY too short) She stayed up ALL night with me when I couldn't sleep. She took care of Westin at night, inbetween feedings. She cleaned everyday, made meals every night, made sur I was eating healthy and drinking plenty of water, and made freezer meals for when its just Matt and me.

Can you say wonder woman?!?!

I can't wait for her to come out again. Westin misses her too much!

These are a few of the shots we got of her and Westin.

You may think we were crazy for taking Westin to the beach but he loved it and this was basically the only time he was in the sun.

We love you Grandma Bair! Come back ASAP!

Labor Day Run Down

Matt already put a short run down of how Mr Westin came.

I had my first contraction as I walked down our stairs heading to Babies "R" Us to get some last minute things. I wasn't sure if it was the real deal so we continued on our journey. While at the store and trying to get our 10% coupon (long story) I was having more contractions. I felt like I had to go to the bathroom so I still wasn't sure if this was the day. At 6:30pm when we left the store I called my mom and let her know my contractions for the last hour had been 3-5 mins apart for the last hour. She headed straight home to pack and head to the airport. I waited for a while thinking no way after only 1 hour of contractions should I go to the hospital. We finally headed out at 8:30 and made it to the hospital in Irvine around 9pm. My Mom made the 8:30 flight out, she must pack fast!

At the hospital they check to see if I'm dilated. Keep in mind this morning I was at a big fat 0. When they checked me, after more than 3 hours of contractions I was still at a 0! I looked at Matt and said "I can't do this at home, I have to stay". You see, by this time I was in tears during every contraction. The doctors thought I was dehydrated so they stuck an IV in me with a liter of fluid. After about an hour of that there was no change. Contractions were still the same and showing no signs of getting better. I still had progressed any either. They told me to go for a 2 hour walk and come back. We started down the hall way and I got nauseous, I felt like I needed food. Matt went back to ask what I could have and they said I needed to come lay down and no food. I got back to the room and threw up all over the bed. A little bit after that my Mom showed up, probably around 11. They came shortly after to check me and I got the GREATEST news of the night ... I was dilated to a 4!! Yep that's right, throwing up made me jump to a 4!!! The first thing I sad was can I have my epidural now? I was admitted to the hospital and about 2 hours later I received my epidural! It was AMAZING! I was completely numb, so much that I couldn't move my left leg on my own. After the epidural I was now at a 5.

We were all supposed to get sleep, Matt did. My Mom and I didn't. I had too much going on in my head. So sometime in the morning they checked me and I was at a 7. Things got moving pretty slowly after the epidural. They gave me some pitocin and said they'd come back later. Later turned out to be 2 hours later. I was checked once again and was at a 9.5 then finally about an hour later the doctor came in to deliver Westin! I pushed for about 25 mins and he was out!

While my Mom and Matt were watching the baby and telling me all about him the Doctor was stiching me up and trying to get me to stop bleeding. After 40 minutes of work and a 4 inch tear later I was finally able to put my legs down, not that I could feel it anyway. Although, after all that I felt like I was never going to feel the same again. I was naseous, light headed, and still couldn't feel my legs. (I wanted that feeling back) They gave me fenergan for my nausea which completly knocked me out, Thank Goodness! I fet so much better after.

Anyway, thats about it. We had our healthy baby boy at 11:31am and he weighed in at 8lbs 10oz.

Maybe He Does Look Like His Daddy

We have been going back and forth as to whether our little boy Westin looks more like his mother or father. I think after this most recent shot it should be a little more clear if not obvious to everyone.
