San Diego 2010

We had so much fun in San Diego this year. Great place, great people and great food!
It was pretty cold the first few days but it warmed up. I'm not sure any of the Arizona people were complaining too much though. I'm pretty sure they don't go for heat.

First of all, lets thanks these 2 wonderful people for making it all happen!

Thanks Mom & Dad!!

Every Tuesday night they do family night at Belmont Park.  It was Westins first time enjoying the rides and his cousin Zack took him.

Grandpa and Logan were inseparable. They love each other. Logan would calm right down if Grandpa held him.

A few crazies on the roller coaster

Westin loved being at the beach all day every day. He jumped right in and helped with the hole digging.

I always look at the people who get buried and feel bad for them.  I think its so uncomfortable to have all that sand EVERYWHERE!  Somehow Matt got roped into it.

The cousins playing in the hole full of water. They were waiting for the waves to come rolling in and getting them wet.

We celebrated Westin's first birthday in San Diego. We had to make a dairy free cake and frosting for the little man. He wouldn't eat it anyway. We should have had otter pops for his treat.

Westin throwing the tissue paper out of the way and his favorite persent by far was the ball. Always the ball.

Logan was all smiles. That kid would laugh at anything and it was such a hoot to get him going.

The boys were playing on the chair together so we yelled for Grace to come over and join them fot eh cousin picture.

The out-takes.

Most of the group. Actually this is only a small portion of the group but have you ever tried to heard a group of cows?

Just for fun.

Extra Fun with Emily and Family

The very last day Emily was here we met up with her and her Mom (Aunt Allison) at Irvine Spectrum to eat lunch and play in some water.

Westin found a ball right away so he followed that thing everywhere. Otherwise I'm not sure he would have wanted to play in it.

He did have a blast with the spraying turtules

I'm sure he was plotting ways to get Grandma wet.

I don't know where Emily is in all of our pictures. She may have been eating ice cream.

Emily Comes to Town

Emily came to visit for a few days whil her parents took a quick trip to Mexico. Grandma and Grandpa Pobst also came to stay. We had fun going for walks, out to eat and to the park!

We tried to get the classic cousin picture. Emily was being so cute!

Westin wasn't interested and wanted to go play with the other kids.

Then when Westin was ready, Emily was not. It was nap time for everyone I think. I guess we got out "Classic Picture"

We always go out to eat when the Pobst's come to town. This time we went to T.K Burger, Fiesta Grill, and Fred's (a new place we tried out).

Grossarth Visit

Back in July we had to chance to drive down to Imperial Beach (San Diego) to meet up with our friends the Grossarths.

Saku is on the left and is about 6 weeks older then Westin. He is already walking and seems so much older then Westin in so many ways! They loved to play with this bucket of water and splash themselves. I guess it was less threatening then the ocean waves.

Westin doesn't love sand but he always has to try it. He will eat it though if we don't watch out for him. If he gets anything else in his mouth and I say spit it out he spits it right out, its so nice and funny.

Don't you always have to have a bath picture with your babies?

Thanskf or letting us come visit for the day. Dinner was so delicious!

Swim Class

We signed Westin up for a swim class. I'm not sure what he is getting out of it.  All we do is sing songs and practice laying on our back and using big arms. He is getting more comfortable with it and he can hold on to the wall and jump in off the side (sort of). I actually don't enjoy it as much. Its too late in the day. One thing I do like about it is its in doors and I don't have to worry about sun screen.

One day Dad was able to come and take pictures.

Westin had a friend in the class CJ goes to church with us. He is almost exactly a year older then Westin.

TPC Scottsdale

This year my dad and I planned out a few activities that we wanted to do. One of them was play the TPC Scottsdale Stadium course. This is the course where the Phoenix Open is held every year.

It was tons of fun and we were even able to drag my brother Aaron along.

4th of July

We had the Bair family over for the 4th festivities. We had lots of beach time and plenty of lounging time. We tried to ride bikes every morning and we had yummy dinners.

Grace enjoyed the bike with Uncle Matt, she was WAY to big for it but loved it.

Trying to play together at the beach. Grace was so good to Westin.

Westin loves Watermelon. He shoves pieces in his mouth and most of the juice drips down.

The balloon attached to Westin is just in case he got lost in the crowds.

Grace watched the "parade" of people. I told her we were going to watch a parade but we got there too late so a "parade" of people is what she got. She still loved it. There are some really characters out there!

Matching shirts, tie dying is so easy. (well sort of) They make pretty cute matching shirts though!

Westin

Westin hasn't been blogged about in a while. Here's the run down on whats been going on the few months.

May 6, 2010 he started to crawl. He was just 2 days shy of being 10 months old. During the day I noticed his leg move a tiny bit when he would rock to his hands. When Matt got home we pulled out the camera and were able to get his first crawl on video.
Until then he wouldn't move from sitting unless I moved him. It was fabulous. I could be in the other room and I knew he would be fine and not get into anything. I could put him to sleep on any bed and he wold be fine. Not the case anymore and it is such a bummer!

Over Memorial weekend (end of May) he decided he wanted to start rolling. That night was not so much fun. He would roll over in bed, sit up and then not know what to do except cry. He figured it all out and now sleeps happily on his stomach. Which is actually cute.

Sometimes he wakes uncomfortable and not a happy camper.

Right after he started to crawl I put him in the laundry basket to keep him contained for a minute. Doesn't work anymore.

He can now pull himself up to furniture and move around it. He won't walk while holding our hands but he just yesterday started to stand by himself for a few seconds until he realizes what is happening.

This rocking chair was a find at a garage sale. The plan was to repaint or stain it but that hasn't happened. Westin loves the rocking chair and would put on a real show as soon as we put him in it.

The first video is him talking to his Grandma RaDean.

I hope you don't get motion sick from watching this video.

Remember when I said my friend Rebecca came to visit? Well now she has moved here! It was a stressful process but they are here and loving it. Westin has a best friend with Isaiah. They light up every time they see each other.

Yamnik's Come to Visit

Matts friend from High School, Patrick and his wife Maryanne came to visit us. Well, not just us they had a whole long list of people they were stopping to see. We were some of the lucky ones and we live close to Disneyland.

Westin loved hanging out with Maryanne. She was always doing and saying something fun.

Random Small world picture from line.

Westin really enjoyed the rides but especially liked "It's A Small World"

We really enjoyed our company and invite anyone else to come and stay!

Galaxy Soccer

Matt, Westin & I headed to the Los Angeles Galaxy Soccer game. Westin did not appreciate the fireworks before the game started.

Nothing a drink from the water fountain can't heal.

Westin we were getting baked in the sun on the other side so we headed to the shade during half time (is it called half time in soccer)

Afterwards we enjoyed the delicious Five Guys.
